Where have some of the people who have written these reviews eaten? Not where I ate. Foord, ambience and entertainment were excellent. We had a super SUnday lunch. Those who don't try are sadly missing out. Excellent value and we will certainly be going back.

I recently had a pre-theatre lunch at the Sarastro with my husband and daughter. My daughter had been taken there two years ago by a friend for her 18th birthday. As she is in amateur theatre herself, she thought the atmosphere and the whole experience was terrific. We agreed. We were served with complimentary breads and olives and dips while we browsing through the menu. We opted for the lunch menu at ???12.50 for two courses. we expected a lite-bite, but was served a very nice starter and a large, very tender lamb shank with more vegetables than we could eat.I would definitely go back and have recommended it to friends who have since booked.Having read some of the reviews, I have to be honest and say that we thought one or two of the staff were a little surly. But they warmed up after a while. We asked if we could sit up in the balcony-style areas, and the only problem was that the over table lights were very low and the heat from them made it a little too warm.On the whole a very different style restaurant and worth a try.

A magical experience. Attentive staff. Tasty food. A haven in a busy city.

A resturante that the enterance you could almost miss due to the beautiful plants and flowers that brightens up a ordinary side street, thinking it is someone's house. Once you enter, the magic unfolds as this is very different that your "average" looking resturante, it is filled with so much to see and how something you might not place together in the terms of decors all looks amazing and a talking point. The theme is colourful and powerful of so many story telling items. The set menu's are simple to understand and the food has always been good value. I have enjoyed many meals/birthdays there and always take different friends there to see their faces, as this place is only for the open minded person. The service is good and the staff always work under pressure as the place has always been busy, now what does that tell you? I recommend this adventure for the open minded person who is not in a rush and find the food of good value from the set menu for Central London prices. I shall continue to enjoy the good company of my friends and a meal at a relaxed place. I go to a resturante to relax and take my time to eat and not to be rushed with a 3 course meal in 30 mins.
