I been in this restaurant few times, actually I am a regular customer. I am reading all this comment, and I can say for my experience, nothing it is true. I will explain why, all staff it is very friendly, fast and competent, whatever you need in few second is in your table. They charging cover charge, (1.75 P.P) but they are very aware about what is in your table, never missing your basket with fresh bread, butter and wonderful olives (just them knows how to made), fresh and succulent cheese, and all the hospitality we need. So if you deciding for a perfect dinner do not hesitate to visit L'Ulivo - typical and real Italian Restaurant...

The restaurant was quiet well presented by its look, but maybe thay should take away all the cheeky stuff to pretend to be Italian, as they are not. Once entered the restaurant a waitress welcomed us and gave us a table in a very reasonable time, but unfortunately the staff performances dropped terrifically from that moment on: the waitress took her time to show up again, and before the drinks were served 25 minutes were already gone. From the time of the food order to the service, another we had to wait another 45 minutes. The food was unsalted, slightely burnt, tasteless and watery (i can't explain this because it was a recipe with cream...). The person who looked like the GM was also very rude with the staff, and treating them like slaves. An unaccettable amount of service charge was added to the bill, plus a service charge per head of 1.75 came from nowhere and excused as a "Westminster City Council Tax"...A suggestion: don't step even close this restaurant.

If you really want to go to this place, make sure you do not pay cash: the change they gave me was ten pounds short and there was nothing I could do about it. It would seem they decided to tip themselves ten pounds over a forty pound bill. When we left, the waiter and staff at the till turned the other way to avoid eye contact. They ruined my day, do not let them ruin your's as well.

This definitely the most high experience I had. I celebrated my 30th birthday with my other 15 friends it was fabulous. They laid our table nicely with balloons and they arranged for my cake. We spent three hours there with good wine very good fish I have to say and what can I say about the desert, just mouth watering. The restaurant it self is really cosy and nice very friendly staff I will make it my favourite restaurant in Leicester Square.

This cosy Italian restaurant seemed to be a good place to have dinner with friends. How wrong the first impression can be. Really wrong! The food was tasteless and boring and the service was really slow. Prices were also pretty high at least if your bill is full of different kinds of service charges. Though I have a strong prejudices about Leicester Square and its' restaurants already, it sometimes worth of trying. Or maybe not. How disappointing experience. Might take a while before I want to have dinner on this area again.

My visit to this restaurant wasn't very pleasant and my friends weren't happy either. Food was pretty tasteless and service slow. However, the outlook of the restaurant is nice, that's why we ended up going there. Unfortunately that was a mistake.

I went to the restaurant with 6 friends after being tempted by the nice exterior, we were quite impressed when they could seat us without prior reservation. After that it all went downhill though. We had to wait ages for service and when we got the food it was all very bland. Between us we ordered 5 different dishes and none of them stood out, not even the pizzas.. and we are talking about an Italian restaurant now! Even before all of us had finished our meals the waitress started to clear the table and we got the impression that they were in quite a rush to get a free table. Then when we got the bill (before we had even asked for it) a cover charge of 1.75 pp had been added and a service charge of 10. When we questioned the manager about it he said the cover charge was to cover the Westminster Tax and that "all restaurants do it". However, none of us had ever heard of it before. All in all, not a very good night for bellies and wallets.

Went here with six other colleagues, after passing what seemed to be a cozy restaurant. However, after almost half an hour's wait, we finally got hold of a waiter that would actually take our order. Received the food quite quickly, although not all at the same time. Had a Pizza Caprino; a small piece of goat's cheese on top and a few pieces of red and green peppers - boring, tasteless and very disappointing, as everybody else's meals also were. The waitress started clearing while people were still eating, which is always unpleasant. As we got the bill, they had charged a cover charge and a service charge, and when we asked about the cover charge, we were obviously taken for tourists and nicely told that all restaurants in Westminster had to have this. Right... Anyways, not a very memorable meal or restaurant, slow service and very basic food.

"A really small and fab little venue. Full of up and coming comics, some of whom have appeared in Edinburgh too. The venue was in the basement and a bit stuffy, but it was intimate and cosy. The food looked really good too as it was served through out the routines. The drinks were reasonably priced considering its just off Leicester Square. "
