Welcome to the most ghettofabulous club in London's West End! If your looking for a great night in down to earth night club that reflects people from all over London then this is the place to be. Fridays are the best night to come if you enjoy bashment, reggae and hip-hop, or alternatively visit on a Saturday if you like to salsa! But be warned, Bar Rumba is not a big club, and fills up quickly...so arrive early to avoid the crush of the queues outside! It is quite hot inside but it all adds to the atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced in comparison to other West End clubs. The only downside to Bar Rumba is the pushy door staff, but other than that it's a brilliant night!
This basement bar/club is certainly very exotic.
I was there one summer night with a couple of friends. The music was very reggaeish, hip hop and R&B and there was a dancing competition. Even if you're not a great dancer, it's always nice to watch other people's talents :O)
As for the clientele..., imagine a reggae, hip hop or R&B video....

If you???re music and/or party connoisseur, then you most certainly have heard of James Manero and his enthusiastic plans for Bar Rumba. James Manero insists that his aim is not to launch a multi-million-pound campaign, or introduce new cocktails to customers, but to exhibit a variety of music catering to everybody???s tastes and party desires. The club stage has featured Fauna Fish, DJ Dinky (from the Panorama Bar), Foreign Muck???s Boris Horel, and Freak???n???Chic???s DJ Terry to introduce and techno type of night. These music packed weekends are monthly, as are weekday nights Tuesday and Thursday. The basement gives customers an intimate setting with a capacity of 455 and two bars.

Lovin' the Rumba

Bubbling Over @ Bar Rumba 29th April 2007Bubbling Over is London???s longest running weekly RnB night, having had it???s residency at Bar Rumba for over ten years.Sunday evenings are usually spent at home by most people but those in the know (and who don???t have an early start on Monday) start their week off with some ???Bubbling Over??? business. This legendary night is run by Ben and Pete (BBE) and features residents Matt White, Brian Norman, Stylez and Lloyd the boogie boy. The night regularly hosts album launch parties for artists such as 50 Cent, DJ Jazzy Jeff and is currently doing a monthly special with DJ Swerve and Dynamite MC (Kiss 100)Their first special event kicked off last week and the party was ???off the hook???The dance floor was packed with a non-stop energy. Every tune being played prevented the majority of the club from sitting down. Dancers were creating mini circles, showing off their skills to each other while the rest of the club was shocking out, sippingchampagne and generally spreading good vibes. You wouldn???t even know it was a Sunday night.Over the years the event has become a weekly hang out for many regulars, helping the night to become legendary. I can only predict that the night will continue to excel over the coming years...
